These are specialized undergraduate programs in the field of healthcare that focus on the technical and clinical aspects of assisting in surgeries and anesthesia management. Both these programs are designed to prepare students for working in high-pressure medical environments, such as operating rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), and surgical departments.

Operation Theatre: Technology (OTT) involves the study and practice of assisting during surgeries, managing surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and ensuring that the operating theatre is ready for surgical procedures.

Skills Developed:

•Expertise in handling surgical instruments.

•Knowledge of anesthesia and monitoring systems.

•Sterilization techniques and maintaining infection control.

•Assisting with patient positioning during surgeries.

•Ability to manage the operation theatre and surgical environment.

Anaesthesia Technology: Is a specialized field focused on the equipment and techniques involved in the administration of anesthesia during surgeries. Anesthesia technologists work closely with anesthesiologists to ensure that the patient is safely sedated and monitored throughout the surgical process.

•Expertise in anesthesia machine setup and maintenance.

•In-depth knowledge of anesthetic drugs and their effects.

•Patient monitoring and ensuring safe anesthesia levels.

•Handling anesthesia complications.

•Post-operative care, ensuring patient recovery from anesthesia.

Course Duration

Direct Entry : 3+1 Year (Internship )

Eligibility :

10+2 Medical (PCB) with 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) or its equivalent from a recognized board.

Lateral Entry: DOTT (3 years) after 10th or DOTT/Diploma in Anaesthesia (2 years) with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) or its equivalent after 10+2 from a recognized board / university.
